• Calves start in a nursery barn; pasteurized milk is fed to beef calves, milk replacer to heifers
• Heifer calves transition to a grouphousing shed with 2 GEA auto feeders

• Home to 11,000 dairy and beef calves as well as 4,000 goat kids
• Calf Source raises the calves for the entire Milk Source family of dairies and related operations in WI, MO, KA and PA

Learn tips to effectively manage large-scale calf-raising
McFarlandale Dairy Thursday, August 13, 10 am - 12 pm
- Youngstock raised on-site until about six months old in four all-in, all-out wet-calf barns with individual housing to support calf health and biosecurity
- Calves transition to a monosloped group-housing barn with bedded packs and front-scrape alleys
